Simple ways to spruce up the outside of your business premises

Posted on

No matter what kind of industry you operate in, the appearance of your premises matters; it will be next to impossible to draw in large numbers of clients or customers if your place of business doesn't project an air of professionalism and success.

However, whilst most entrepreneurs devote plenty of time and money to ensuring that their premises' interior is up to scratch, few put as much effort into the exterior. This is a costly mistake, as potential customers could be deterred from entering a shop or office if its exterior is noticeably rundown. Here are some ways in which you can quickly and easily spruce up the outside of your business premises.

Add signage and parking spaces

Many new entrepreneurs opt to rent or buy commercial spaces on the outskirts of a town or city, largely because properties in such areas tend to be far less expensive than their more centrally-located counterparts. However the problem with this is that it can be much harder for potential customers to find your enterprise. Investing in some large, tastefully-designed signage for the external area of the premises will ensure that passers-by immediately recognise it as a professional place of business.

Additionally, it may be worth hiring or purchasing line marking machines from a company like A1 Roadlines Pty. Ltd, so that you can create a designated parking area. This will not only improve the overall look of your premises, but will also save customers or clients from the frustration of having to search for somewhere safe to park their vehicle before they enter your office or shop .

Clean up and decorate

When you're busy running an enterprise, it's all too easy to forget about the more basic aspects of maintaining a premises, such as cleaning and decorating; other more pressing matters usually have to take priority. However, you'd be amazed at what a difference a deep clean will make; picking up scraps of rubbish, scrubbing any graffiti off the surrounding walls or gates and doing a spot of de-cluttering can transform the appearance of your enterprise.

If you can afford it, consider re-painting the external walls of the premises and adding a few decorative outdoor items near the entrance; a few potted plants, a fresh lick of paint and perhaps a bench for customers can all help to create a more welcoming atmosphere. If you run a retail business, make sure that the front-facing window is thoughtfully decorated with seasonally-appropriate and colour coordinated items.
